Many people think that purchasing as set of golf clubs is as easy as walking into a golf store and buying them. This is far from the truth as there many factors which must be considered when purchasing a new set of golf clubs. You will find that there is a wide range of brands and styles of golf clubs available, all of which cater to ones style of play and skill level.

Your first step in purchasing a set of golf clubs is to recognize your skill level. Just because a set of golf clubs are more expensive does not mean that you will be able to hit them long and straight down the fairway. There are many different styles of golf clubs. A beginner would be better off with an oversized set of irons while a veteran golfer may want a small set of blade irons. A beginner or high handicap golfer will find it very hard to hit a set of blade irons as the heads are very small and do not have a large sweet spot.

Once you recognize your skill level the first place to go to look for golf clubs is the internet. There are many golf club review sites online that can help you find a perfect match for your golf game. You can find golf club review websites where golfers just like you leave their comments about particular brands and styles of clubs. For example, I purchased a set of Taylor Made Oversized Irons last year. Before I purchased them I read a dozen review websites to see if they were a good fit for a high handicap golfer like me. I found that many golfers liked their forgiveness, large sweet spot and quality of workmanship. In short, they were rated very high amongst high handicap golfers and beginners. I knew that they were the clubs I was interested in.

My next step was to visit a golf store. Not just any golf store but one with driving net so I could test the clubs out to see how they feel. This is an important step. Just because other similar type golfers like a club you may not like their feel or weight. Most large golf stores will have golf cages set up where you can hit the balls into a net or computer screen. Some will even have a professional on site to watch your swing and make suggestions on what particular golf club suits your swing. It is very important when purchasing golf clubs to test them out first.

There are other options available to test golf clubs as well. Most golf courses will have demo clubs available in their pro shop. Bigger names like Callaway and Taylor Made will have sales reps that leave demo clubs behind for you to take out in a golf game and test. Golf courses will also have special demo days throughout the golf season. The sales reps will be on hand with lots of demo clubs for you to try.

You can also ask your golf partners if they can recommend a set of clubs that they enjoy playing with. If they enjoy their clubs ask if you can try them out for a round. I have done this several times. I have borrowed my friend’s fairway woods, putters and hybrid clubs for a couple of rounds to see if I liked them before buying them. This has saved me a lot of money in buying clubs that don’t fit my needs.

There are many points to consider when purchasing a new set of golf clubs. The style and make of a golf club should relate to your skill level and style of play. Research any club type you are interested in. Make sure you try out any golf clubs before you buy them.

The PowaKaddy Company is the world’s leading manufacturer of powered golf carts. All carts made by PowaKaddy are designed by golfers for golfers. This means you are getting a cart that meets your needs because advice from avid golfers goes into the design of every single cart. It’s best to have a product designed by people who use that product. PowaKaddy knows this all too well.

PowaKaddy golf carts are pull carts on which you put your club so you can easily walk your round of golf. Most are run by small batteries that are on the cart. Here are some of their products along with a brief description of each:

* Freeway Titanium Sport – This cart is similar to the Compact, but PowaKaddy has added some touches of refinement. The chassis is also made with AMST alloy steel, but it also has low profile sport wheels and a nearly noiseless engine. It also has an Electronic Distance Function which will automatically drive your cart forward.
* Robokaddy – This cart is touted as the neatest, lightest powered cart that obeys your every command by remote control. You direct operations via a small pocket sized transmitter. The motors are very quiet and it easily folds up for convenient transportation and storage.
* Classic Legend – This new cart combines all the best features of the Classic with the PowaKaddy Freeway. It has a removable handle, and is made with AMST steel just like the other PowaKaddy carts.

Weather certainly plays a huge role in a good golf game. Obviously, if it is raining, you aren’t going to be able to golf as easily as if the sun was shining. While summer golf provides great weather conditions, you also won’t want to be on the course when it’s 110 degrees in the shade (which makes it hotter on the fairway!)

Monitoring the weather is something avid golfers do faithfully. Ideal golf weather is about 70 degrees with clear skies and a soft breeze. Sometimes you’ll get this kind of golf weather and enjoy it when you do. But you can golf in other weather as well.

I know one golfer who is so obsessed with the game; he played on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Of course, it was unseasonably warm that winter, but it was still cold enough to keep normal people off the links. Most people won’t go to that extreme, but there are many who do, believe it or not!

What do you need to know about playing golf in certain weather conditions? The answer is more than you know! Different weather conditions should be approached differently when it comes to your golf game.

If you are playing golf in cold weather, you need to remember to take extra time to warm up and stretch. You are more prone to injury in cold weather, so take the time to stretch out. Wear layers of clothing with cold weather golf. You will also want to keep your head and hands covered as those are the two places where we lose our heat the quickest.

In extremely hot weather, your approach to the golf game should also be tended to. Most golf clubs have dress codes that you will have to adhere to and tank tops are usually not on that list. Wear clothing that is made of lightweight, breathable fabric. Make sure you wear plenty of sunscreen and a hat to protect your eyes. Have plenty of water on hand and take time to rest in the shade of a tree.

Under no circumstances should you play golf in weather where it is thundering and lightning. More people are struck by lightning on the golf course than in any other place. It’s alright to play in a light rain – although it probably won’t be much fun – but if you heard the thunder roll or see light in the sky, vacate the course immediately.

While the weather can have an affect on your golf game, you can still play when you want to as long as you take proper precautions.

Hybrids are Hot! And we’re not just talking about automobiles. The hybrid golfclub is often referred to as the utility club and is a somewhat recent addition to the line-up of clubs that golfers can choose. They are increasing in popularity since they are designed to be easy to hit for the recreational golfer. Actually, they are easier to hit for any golfer and most touring pros now carry at least one hybrid golf club in their bag.

Hybrid golf clubs combine elements of both irons & woods in their design. This characteristic creates advantages in getting the ball airborne, dampening the effects of miss hits, and many other pluses.

Most hybrid golf clubs are designed to replace the long irons (2, 3, 4, and sometimes 5 irons) in a golfer’s bag. When you hear it mentioned that hybrid golf clubs are easier to hit, this is usually meant in comparison to the long irons that these hybrids replace.

So why are hybrid golf clubs advantageous over regular irons?
A normal iron doesn’t have much of a back on it. You can make an iron that has perimeter weighting but you can’t have it further back unless it has a bigger back side. You can’t move much weight back into the air, so to make an iron easier to hit manufacturers have started to “fatten” the back of them. So hybrid clubs that look more like an iron appear to have a bulge on the back. They just moved the weight further back on the iron. Now they can have weight along the outside of the club and further back.
On the other hand, companies who make their Hybrid Golf Club look more like a fairway wood have been able to move the weight back a little more as the club is larger. Not large enough to be the size of a harder to hit fairway wood but large enough to do the trick.
Hybrid golf clubs also have a lower center of gravity. If you move the center of gravity down then the ball gets up in the air easier. It helps increase the launch angle of the ball without having to increase the actual loft of the club. This may not be visible but the result is.
If you have a 3 iron that is 20 degrees and a hybrid golf club that is the same loft, but with the weight further back and the center of gravity lower… the club will launch the ball higher. That’s why it is important to realize that when making a purchase of a hybrid golf club that the lofts are not directly comparable to the club you are replacing.
There are some players who swear by hybrid golf clubs and others who think they are just junk. But the simple fact is that a hybrid golf club is easier to get into the air, down the fairway and onto the green

Taylor Made Golf is one of the largest companies that manufacturers golf club, balls, and accessories for the serious golfer. Founded in 1979 by Gary Adams, an entrepreneur who also started Founders Club and McHenry metals, Taylor Made has grown into a name synonymous with golf greatness.

While working as a salesman for Witteck Golf, Adams noticed that the new two piece balls performed better on irons than on true woods. This led him to develop the Taylor Made metal wood. The driver caught on quickly and Taylor Made has been a leader in hollow metal woods ever since.

Taylor Made continues to make innovations in the area of golf club design. They have come out with new hybrid golf clubs that are lighter and easier to swing. The drivers that Taylor Made produces are made of materials that make them easier to hit and as the club faces get larger and larger, Taylor Made has also joined in on the craze.

Many golfers, amateurs and professionals alike, swear by Taylor Made clubs. Their constantly improving design and performance have made them favorites on the pro circuit. Golfers are finding that they can get some real distance with Taylor Made drivers and their irons perform very well too.

Besides some of the greatest golf clubs in the world, Taylor Made also manufactures its own line of golf balls as well as producing Maxfli golf balls. Their two-piece balls come in a variety of specialized weights and compressions which can help you hit the ball farther and with more accuracy. Of course, that does depend somewhat on your swing as well!

Recently, Taylor Made acquired the Adidas corporation and are now adding golf shoes to their lineup of products. Their bags are durable and are a favorite among many golfers today. The present company is known as Taylor Made-Adidas Golf.

If you want to own a set of Taylor Made golf clubs, be prepared to pay quite a price for them – especially if you are buying them new. But know that you are making an investment in your golf game and will be paying for quality clubs that can last you for a very, very long time.

Taylor Made’s drivers, hybrids, and fairway woods are used by more professionals than any other brand. There’s a reason why the pros choose Taylor Made for their club selections. If the pros think Taylor Made is worthy of playing, shouldn’t you too?

The average casual golfer doesn’t give much thought to picking the right golf ball. They think of the ball as part of the game that really isn’t all that important. After all, you’re just wacking it around the course, right? Wrong! Using the right golf ball will gain distance to your off the tee shots, make it easier to pull off finesse shots, & so much more!

Basically, there are 3 types of balls: balata, 2-piece, or a combination of both. Golf balls are manufactured with three performance qualities in mind as well: spin, distance, and control. Choosing the appropriate ball really depends on what you are looking for in your golf game.

Are you a lower handicap player looking for great spin and control? If so, pick a balata type ball. This is simply a softer ball with a softer cover allowing for more spin. This is the ball that most professionals choose. These are also costlier than other balls.

Perhaps you have a higher handicap and are looking more for a ball with distance and durability. This is where a good 2-piece ball will be more appropriate. This golf ball has a harder cover which creates less back-spin allowing you to hit it further.

Some golf balls are created with a slower swing in mind. They will have a light-weight construction that catches air. They are generally marketed for women or seniors, but plenty of men also play this type because it gains them extra distance.

Believe it or not the weather you are playing in can make a difference in your golf ball choice. Course conditions can also dictate which golf ball you use. Maybe the course has been deluged with rain. In that case, you’ll need a ball which travels futher and produces less spin. If you are playing on a rockhard, sun-baked surface, choose something softer that will land soft and spin.

Look at the temperature as well. Balls come in two compressions – 90 @ 100. When you strike the ball, it compresses. Therefore the 90 compression golfball will be softer than the 100. If it’s cold, the ball will not naturallt compress as much so you might want to play a 90 compression. If it’s a hot day, you might opt for the 100 compression.

In general, two piece balls are going to give you more distance and they will be more durable meaning they will last longer. Solid core golf balls offer less trajectory and can spin for better accuracy. Even the dimples on the ball can have an effect on your game. Smaller dimples decrease trajectory with larger dimples increasing it.

Choosing the right golf ball really is important to playing a good game. There are many, many different balls to choose from on the market. Explore which golf ball you may want to use and then try it out. Experiment and in time, you’ll find exactly the right golf ball for you.

Like other people, many golfers require corrective lenses in order to see clearly. In golf, like most sports, good vision ensures the best performance. So for the lowest score you must ensure your eyesight is top quality.

Many golfers wear specialized eyewear in order to improve their game. For example, some golfers prefer copper tinted lenses since they can enhance the contrast of a golf ball against the sky and also the green background of greens & fairways. However traditional glasses present many disadvantages to the golfer. Glasses can slip, fog up, or even fall off. They offer no side (peripheral) vision. And the frames can be distracting during a golf stroke.

A product available from Nike: Maxsight, is now available for golfers who want to get rid of their glasses and improve their golf game at the same time. The golf version enhances the red and green part of the visual spectrum. This makes it easier to see the ball & read the contour and details of the putting surface. These contacts also reduce glare from the sun and the contrast between shade and non-shade.

MaxSight Contacts are available at up to a 50% discount from 1-800-Contacts. Take advantage of a 1800Contacts coupon or LensWorld coupon and save extra when you order online.
